Today’s new species were: Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus). While waiting for something to happen at Tømmerbytårnet, two grey birds came flying in from the west. I quickly pressed the shutter. It was only afterwards that I realized what they were. Luckily the light was in the right direction and luckily the camera autofocus was working properly (something I feel I am having problems with).
The same happened again later on in the afternoon. I thought I had taken pictures of Swallows (Hirundo rustica) in flight, when they turned out to be a Sand Martin (Riparia raparia). It just goes to show how important it is to look through your photos when you get home.
Anyway, the last species was the Reed Bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus). I actually spotted this bird a week or so ago while going for an evening drive, but I forgot to add it to the list then.
