Bearded Titmouse (Panurus biarmicus).
Today was the first day this year that I saw the Bearded Titmouse (Panurus biarmicus). This gorgeous little birds that is so difficult to photograph suddenly decided to pose. I had just walked away from the car, along the gravel path, when it decided to sit right in front of me, picking the seeds of a reed. The whole thing took about 30 seconds, where I maxed out the buffer in the camera. Apart from a reed swaying in the wind, in front of the birds, I had a totally clear view.
The 1D Mark IV performed flawlessly. Sometimes pictures at that distance appear grainy, but this time they were all tack sharp. I think these are some of the best pictures I have ever taken.
A big “Thank You” to the little Titmouse for making my day.
