Photo frames.
I have been playing around with GIMP, trying to get my photos tidied up. Apart from modifying contrast, clarity, and white-balance, the biggest improvement to a photo, in my view, is to add a simple frame. I know this tips is probably 600 or more years old, but when I first discovered this, I was completely blown away by the difference a frame makes.
