Carrus Navalis.
Spring was proclaimed today, when a replica of the more than 3350 year old Sun Chariot was carried through the streets of Aalborg. The parade, named Carrus Navalis, celebrates that light has finally triumphed over the darkness of winter, and that spring is finally here. The parade featured dancers, drumers, the good ship “Carrus”, the Aalborg Cannoneers and Dunkelfolket.
Dunkelfolket originates from the beautiful nature around Fosdalen, not far from my home in the northern part of Jutland, Denmark. Each Spring, Dunkelfolket surface from Mother Nature to spread the notions of joy, life and death to the common people.
