Like Lady Gaga said; I like it RAW.
I finally understand why people like the RAW file format. Yesterday I pixel-peep’ed the output from my compact camera. Holy crap, the output sucks. It is so digitally enhanced and noise-reduced that all the pixels merge into some kind of coloured splodges. So much for 12 MPixel. That’s what a tiny sensor does, girls! My SLRs in comparison rocks. Would you dare try to enhance an image from a compact camera in post? I for sure wouldn’t.
So, why do I shoot JPG? Because the buffer in my camera gets full way to quickly if I shot RAW. Until I get an EOS 1D Mark V, I will have to JPG it.
