Spring on the heath.
Yesterday I went to the local heath. This landscape, at this time of year, is still very dull and brown, as the heather is not blooming yet. Something else is blooming now, though, and that is the Spring Pasque flower (Pulsatilla vernalis). After quite a trek, we were able to find a single flower. The stem was rather short, and I’d expect a few more in the coming week or two.
This flower is extremely rare and grows only in three place in Denmark. It is rare, mostly because the heath get overgrown with trees. There is now a program in place to protect this flower, and for that reason, trees are cut down. I can unfortunately not give the exact location of this place.
