Evening drive.
Went on a short evening drive to the local beach. The ringed plovers (Charadrius hiaticula) were gone. I think their nest was sanded over as the dunes had shifted. A lone pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) and an equally lone buzzard (Buteo buteo) were resting on the gravel path (not next to each other though). I didn’t see the buzzard until it took off, but I managed to get a fairly decent shot of the pheasant. Despite being such a common bird, it is remarkably difficult to get a good shot of.
Note to self: Get a car where it is possible to shoot pictures through the front windscreen.
